Temporary

In case you hadn’t heard, everything is temporary, and I mean everything. Even the sun and the stars will burn out at some point in the future. In comparison, our lives are like a gnat’s life. Why does this matter? It’s simple.

Live while you can. Create without fear. Be bold. You only get one chance.

I don’t want to get all moral on you, but before we talk about creativity, let’s discuss living right. Maybe there is no right way to live. But there are some ways to live that might keep you living longer. I quit basing my moral and ethical decisions on any kind of religious entity. Instead, I turn to common sense and doing what’s best for my fellow human.

If you want to contribute your talents to this world you need to keep yourself in fair health. Do things in moderation. I drink an occasional beer, but I quit getting drunk and smoking weed in my 20s. Why? Because it hindered my intellectual and creative processes. I try to eat healthy. I try to exercise regularly. By keeping myself in fair health I increase my odds of creating more.

The more you create, the more you increase your odds of contributing something positive to this world. You might even leave something behind that will continue to have positive effects on future generations.

Everything is temporary. Don’t waste the time you’ve been given. Create. – dse
