Stop Complaining

This post is for me as much as it is for anyone else.

Whether it’s about life, creativity, or the weather, complaining usually does no good. In fact, it probably makes things worse. Stop complaining.

I’ll admit that I can bitch and moan sometimes. If you spend a weekend with me you’d surely hear a few choice words come from my mouth about something. A little complaining and cursing never hurt anyone. It might even relieve stress and frustration. But if you’re complaining all the time, you’re dragging yourself and everyone around you down.

And what good does it do? Really?

I suppose there are times when we have legitimate complaints that can get problems solved. But whining about the weather every time you walk out the door? Or complaining about your latest writing project and how it’s not coming together? It suspends a negative vibe.

If you constantly complain, chances are good that your life will constantly suck. It’s just the way it works. When you find reasons to have gratitude and be happy, things will improve. It’s as simple as that. – dse
