Combinations

I have a schizophrenic musical personality. I’ve written everything from traditional rock, pop, and country songs to blues to punk rock. I’ve experimented in ambient music production. I’ve programmed electronic dance beats, played with noise recordings, and composed neo-classical and jazz pieces. What if I made an album that includes combinations of all of those styles?

You can listen to some of my recordings at Bandcamp.

I’m not saying I’m going to do combine every musical style I’ve played with. But the idea has always been intriguing to me, to combine electronic and acoustic sounds, to combine ambient noise and traditional songwriting. I could throw in some poetry and spoken word just for kicks. My point is simple. Creativity doesn’t happen in a vacuum of one style or another. Creativity is at its best when we experiment with combinations. – dse
