Anderhill’s second EP of 2020, Beyond the Edge of the Bogs, introduces the use of a banjo. In 2019, I started sampling sounds from a variety of guitars, but after finding a great vintage banjo, anything is fair game.
Beyond the Edge of the Bogs includes some hypnotic beats and bluesy elements, thus the title. The first track was written while drifting in and out of sleep. The next day I listened back and liked what I heard. Studies show that we become more creative when we are tired or sleepy. – dse
