When you hear the words, the creator, you might think of God. But we are all creators. Every human being has the power to create his or her own world.
I’m a writer. I’m a musician. I’m a creator. I create things. In a way, I make my own world. This website is my own little creation with links to much of my writing and music. It’s a view into my creative powers.
I don’t want to come off the wrong way, but maybe as artists, the next time someone starts talking about creative powers, we should take more credit. I come from a Christian background and I understand that people like to give credit to God for their creative talents. Yet, it’s me, not God typing these words. I’m the one who has written a handful of books. And I’m the one who has written hundreds of songs and pieces of music.
I am the creator.
Yes, I am God in a small way. I’m the God of my own creation. I make the decisions as to what I keep and what I discard. I decide which instruments to use in each piece of music I compose. If it sucks, who takes credit for that? Me. If it’s genius, I’ll take credit for that, too. I take full ownership and responsibility for the things I make. I’ll say it again, and I mean it in the most humble way possible.
