Just for a Moment I Thought the World Was Normal Again

I’ve been working on new music for my A Cult of Lies project. Beginning with the November, 2021 release, Relentless, I’ve taken a new direction with A Cult of Lies for an upcoming album.

Unlike the first two recordings, He Called Himself Micheal the Archangel but He Was Born to Destroy and Everything You’ve Ever Dreamed Is Possible, these new compositions take on a long, dark, dystopian feel. Even so, the music is quiet and meditative.

Both “Relentless,” and Just for a Moment I Thought the World Was Normal Again, were recorded in the same place in Everett, Washington. Perhaps the remaining tracks to the album will be as well.

Originally, I was going to title this song “Levitate,” but I walked out of my hotel room without a mask and got halfway to the breakfast area before I realized it. And just for a moment I thought the world was normal again.

The photo for this track, (and likely for the album), is my own photography from somewhere on the Oregon Coast. – dse
