More About Me

Dan Steven Erickson is a poet, songwriter, writer, and musician. He’s been writing songs, poems, and books for more than 30 years. Early in his career he focused on popular musical genres such as pop, rock, and country. More recently he’s started writing free-verse poetry and fiction, as well as experimenting in electronic and ambient music composition. He’s also a student of great country and folk music and the Blues.

For his most recent experimental recordings, in which he includes samples of unusual sounds and places, he’s taken on the alias, Anderhill. Yet he still works and performs regionally as a poet and traditional singer-songwriter under his eponym.

As a child and teenager, he was the victim of an extreme religious cult. That early experience led to his first book, A Train Called Forgiveness, and eventually a trilogy of books. Dan also has an interest in minimalism and simple living and has written in some depth on those topics.

Currently, Dan Steven Erickson calls Maine his home. He takes inspiration from the geographical surroundings: desert, ocean, prairie, rivers, mountains, etc. He is a single parent to a teenage daughter and teaches communication and public speaking courses for a college in the Pacific Northwest.
